Frontend Engineer (React)
Applications are reviewed by the hiring team for the role.
About the role
Sama Home builds the software behind hospital systems, government services and business platforms across Jordan. Our frontend team turns backend logic into interfaces that real people rely on every day, so the work has to hold up under actual use, not just look good in a demo.
As a Frontend Engineer you'll spend most of your time in React and TypeScript, building and maintaining the screens our clients and their users interact with. You'll work directly with the designers who hand off the mockups and the backend engineers whose APIs you consume, and you're expected to ask the right questions before writing code rather than guessing at intent.
What you'll be doing
- Building new features and screens in React and TypeScript, from a design file to something shipped in production
- Fixing bugs reported by users and support, and tracking down the root cause instead of patching symptoms
- Reviewing pull requests from teammates, and getting your own reviewed in turn
- Improving performance and accessibility on pages that get heavy daily use
- Working with backend engineers to shape API contracts before they're built, not after
What we're looking for
- Solid hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in a production codebase
- Comfort with state management, component design and the usual debugging tools like browser devtools and the React profiler
- Working proficiency in both Arabic and English, since our interfaces and documentation are bilingual
- The ability to read a design spec and flag what's missing or inconsistent before it turns into a bug later
- Familiarity with Git and a normal pull-request based workflow
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js or another React framework
- Exposure to accessibility standards (WCAG) or right-to-left layout work
- Prior work on internal tools, dashboards or systems used in healthcare or government settings
This is a hybrid role based out of our Amman office. You'll come in a few days a week for team planning, design reviews and pairing, with the rest of your time flexible.
